In The Spirit of the Season

Another year...another reflection...another wondering...

This time, through various thoughts and precepts, the scriptures mulling through my mind is:
  • Rom 2:4   Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?
Jesus died for me because "The Lord is Good..." (Ps 100v5) and it is this goodness that led me to repent and believe on Him all those many years ago.

When I repented and accepted Jesus as my Savior, I according to Gal 3v14 & 29 I have become an heir to the promises made to Abraham.

  • Gal 3:14  that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
  • Gal 3:29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Many people have said to me how they have found out that people have "held up" or "not been obedient to the Lord" and they have been through hard times because of other people’s disobedience to God’s Word.

The view I really want to draw attention to is by flipping over that exact train of thought: "If people have held up my blessing, how many other peoples blessing have I held up?"

God uses people to bless people, and I've been wondering if I have been an instrument used by darkness to not help other people – saved or unsaved. Even more so the unsaved. What greater testimony is there to unsaved people to have a Christian do something good for them instead of the usual issues we so freely dish out? We are so free to pass out judgment, criticism, feelings of unworthiness, rejecting people just because we can, talking about them in an unworthy manner (gossip)?

The question I’m going to be asking myself frequently in the coming year is:

Best Revenge on Your Enemies!

FORGIVE THEM! BLESS THEM! PRAY FOR THEM!

People are always telling me that someone is putting curses on them. Normally word curses. And as a Christian, they feel they are affected by these word curses.

God says vengance is His!

Matt 5:44
44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
(NKJ)

My experience: The faster I have forgiven them and started praying for God to bless them, the faster I have released God to bring them to the place where He touches them far more effective then I ever could!

Prov 26:2
2 Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight.

Women of God Affecting Nations Summary

I enjoy encouraging and motivating people.

I started writing about "How Women/Woman have affected Nations through decisions they make".

By the time I had finished looking at God's purpose for a Woman, Eve and Sarah, the blog was far to long. I have decided to now do the same topic, but just in a short course of series. They will all be under the heading Woman of God Affecting Nations Part ?

Look forward to sharing this study with you!

Much love

Love, is it worth walking through

Love is a verb. It is very easy to love someone who is good to you, but it is very difficult to love someone who has hurt you or continually hurts you. Having had my nose in these few verses over and over for the last 7 years, it is starting to make a little more practical sense, but a lot of the work first had to be sorted in my own heart. I have not perfected the art of loving those who don't love me, but I am doing better at identifying when I am not acting in love, and it suprises me how easy it is to act "not according to the love guidelines" even towards those closest to me. Meditate on these one phrase at a time and I will discuss how I got through them as the blog grows.

1 Cor 13:4-7Love never gives up.
Love cares more for others than for self.
Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
Love doesn't strut,
Doesn't have a swelled head,
Doesn't force itself on others,
Isn't always "me first,"
Doesn't fly off the handle,
Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
Doesn't revel when others grovel,
Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
Puts up with anything,
Trusts God always,
Always looks for the best,
Never looks back,
But keeps going to the end.
